After the SAVIO cros­sing the rains again set in, wash­ing out brid­ges and ma­king all roads impas­si­ble.  Every­one sat down qui­etly to wait mean­while sen­ding recce par­ties to CER­VIA, AN­CONA, and CAT­TO­LICA in search of suit­able Rest Areas.  The word to move to FOS­SOM­BRONE came at 0200 hours 3 No­vem­ber and the Regi­ment was on the move at 0500 hours having break­fas­ted.
